We Invite You to Become a Member of the Society for New Communications Research

The Society for New Communication Research is a global nonprofit 501c3 think tank focused on intensive research and education on both the theoretical as well as the practical implications surrounding new communications methodologies, tools and technologies. The Society’s fellows comprise more than 40 futurists, scholars, business leaders, professional communicators, members of the media and technologists from around the globe. To continually build our knowledge and research base, we are always seeking to expand our membership and build an international virtual community of individuals and organizations who are involved and interested in new communications technology.

Joining the Society allows you the opportunity to receive our monthly newsletter with commentary from SNCR experts and updates on research initiatives, invitations to special events, the bi-annual Journal of New Communications Research, invitations to and discounts on all SNCR educational events. It also allows you to participate in the Society and our work by sharing your thoughts and commentary on our work and on the work you would like our researchers to investigate. Your financial support enables the SNCR to continue its ongoing research, publication and education initiatives. Ultimately, your support helps us all to better understand the impact of new communications tools, technologies and emerging modes of communication, and their effect on traditional media, professional communications, business and society.

The Society for New Communications Research Fellowship Program
The Society for New Communications Research Fellowship is a one-year, volunteer-based program. The Society issues a call  for Fellows once each year. All business leaders, professional communicators, members of the media, futurists, scholars and  technologists from around the globe are welcome to apply. Applicants are asked to complete the membership application, provide a detailed summary of their professional background, and submit a research proposal that is in line with our research roadmap, as well as three professional/academic references. Those who are selected are expected to volunteer at least 10-12 hours per month of their time to SNCR, conducting independent research in line with their proposals and/or other SNCR-sponsored research and education projects. The fellowship program is highly competitive. In 2008 only one in four applicants was selected. The Society accepts a maximum of 12 Fellows each year.
