Spanning a career in media and agency management, Paul moved through the ranks of agencies to include Grey, Y&R, Ketchum, FCB/LKP and IPG’s Draft and Universal McCann.
At LKP, as SVP, Paul built a national broadcast network group while maintaining vigil over media operations. His move to Doyle Graf Mabley expanded his responsibilities to EVP/Media, Marketing and Administration.
In 1988 Paul founded Group One Communications, a media group dedicated to an exclusive client base. Services included traditional media reviews as well as migration planning into the digital arena.
Paul managed Group One through 1998 when he joined Draft. As SVP/Group MD and a member of the Executive Committee, Paul was the architect for the launch of the agency’s Digital operations. As liaison with IPG's Corporate offices, Paul drove the agency’s digital interface with IPG holdings.
At Mediaplex / 2001, Paul’s responsibilities focused on management of the New York office and building the ValueClick digital brands across direct clients, agencies and publishers.
In 2006, Paul joined Universal McCann’s Digital Communications Practice as SVP/Global Digital Director, overseeing over 70 Johnson & Johnson brands.
Following a successful restructure of the Digital Communications Practice at Universal McCann's J&J unit, Paul joined Datran Media's executive team in 2007 to oversee agency sales and the strategic development group.
Paul is currently CEO at Semplest, a Search Marketing late-stage start-up.
Paul is a member of numerous media groups and has been a speaker at Myers Interactive Forums, the MPA, Media Marketing Week, Financial Communications Society, an editorial advisor to MediaLife and a visiting professor for Magazine Publishing and Strategic Alliances at NYU. Paul is also a Senior Fellow and Advisory Board member at The Society for New Communications Research and a sustaining member of the American Institute for Economic Research.
