As we prepare for 2009, we invite you to start the new year as a supporting member of the Society for New Communications Research, a unique global, nonprofit think tank focused on the latest developments in new media and communications.
SNCR is the only organization that bridges the academic and communications practitioner communities – bringing together a leading group of futurists, scholars, business leaders, professional communicators, members of the media, and technologists from around the globe to create a global, volunteer network focused on innovative research initiatives, educational offerings, and the establishment of best practices. Our Fellows explore the impact of the ever-changing media and communications landscape to figure out what it all means for your organization and industry.
SNCR provides a wealth of original research and educational content and offerings that are designed to be immediately actionable and to make you and your organization more effective, more efficient, and more competitive.
The 2009 SNCR research and education agenda will focus on:
* Social media metrics and measurement – establishing best practices and standards;
* How small businesses are using social media and Web 2.0 tools and technologies;
* Enterprise adoption of Web 2.0 tools and technologies (including “Behind the Firewall” initiatives)
* Adoption of social media by the higher education sector
* New developments in mobile media;
* New business models for news organizations;
* Shifts in business and economic behavior resulting from new communication technologies and the growing impact of social media and connective technologies on business and the economy
Won’t you please join us in our exploration of these important topics?
As a supporting member you’ll receive access to SNCR’s research reports, the Journal of New Communications Research, award-winning case studies, best practices tip sheets, publications by our fellows, web briefings, our new and expanded online education program, and face-to-face education, knowledge-sharing, and unparalleled online and face-to-face networking opportunities with our Fellows.
A variety of membership levels and benefits are available. See http://sncr.org/membership/ for details. Join or renew your membership by December 31st, and you will receive an additional three months of membership FREE! (We can even defer billing until 2009 if you’d prefer.)
Your participation and financial support are crucial to our continued success. Your support enables SNCR to conduct its ongoing research, publication, and education initiatives and to continue to expand the reach and scope of our work. Ultimately, your support helps us all to better understand the impact of new communications tools, technologies and emerging modes of communication, and their effect on traditional media, professional communications, business, and society.
